Patriarch Ilia II, one of Georgia’s most revered spiritual leaders.
The longtime head of the Georgian Orthodox Church passed away at the age of 93 after nearly five decades of leadership. His funeral drew massive crowds, with mourners lining the streets, holding candles and flowers, and paying tribute to a man many called a father, friend, and guide.
